About Memory Care
Memory loss is a challenge impacting many families. The National Alzheimer’s Association estimates that, today:
- 5.4 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease.
- One in eight older Americans has Alzheimer’s disease.
- Alzheimer’s disease is the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States and the only cause of death among the top 10 in the United States that cannot be prevented, cured or even slowed.
Mary Immaculate Health/Care Services provides specialized care for those challenged by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. We offer a full continuum of care ranging from support for residents in independent housing and in Marguerite’s House Assisted Living as well as through in-patient care provided in the MI Nursing/Restorative Center. Our adult day health program includes a service designed especially for Spanish-speaking elders with memory loss issues.
This is Catholic Health Care
The Catholic Health Association of the United States, or CHAUSA, recently published this video highlighting the Montessori for aging program at Mary Immaculate. It is the latest in a video series that CHAUSA uses to celebrate the work of member ministries, like Mary Immaculate, in advancing human dignity and the common good in their local communities.
