Latino Dementia Day Care Program
Our adult day health program offerings now include a service designed especially for Spanish-speaking elders with memory loss issues or dementia. Located in a homey first floor space on the Residential side of the MIHCS campus, the Latino dementia program is equipped with a wander guard system and an enclosed outdoor space so members can walk about freely but remain safe.
The Latino population is particularly impacted by the challenges of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias because onset tends to strike earlier in life, and these elders often live at home for longer. The services at Mary Immaculate Adult Day Health are designed to promote independence, and meet individual medical, nursing, and rehabilitative and social needs in a secure and supportive environment.
Like all the MI adult day care programs, the latino dementia program offers a full range of activities for the body, mind and spirit and are appropriate for elders who can still live safely at home, but who need daytime nursing and social support. Transportation services are available through MI Transportation.
