Service—The Theme Of Evening Of Sharing And Caring
The annual Evening of Sharing and Caring will be held at the Andover Country Club on Tuesday, September 27. The evening will include the presentation of the prestigious St. Marguerite d’Youville Pilgrimage of Love Award to Reverend James A. Wenzel, OSA, in recognition of his extraordinary contributions on behalf of elders in the community.

In keeping with the theme of service to others, two speakers will share their experiences with those in attendance. Meghan McKennan, a 2008 graduate from Merrimack College, will describe her days as an Augustinian volunteer in South Africa. Here, she served as a healthcare assistant at the Hillcrest AIDS Respite Center in Durban providing hospice care for patients infected or affected by HIV/AIDS.
Meghan also spent nearly a year as a volunteer educational and activities coordinator at the Siena House Shelter in the Bronx (NY). Here, she coordinated weekly educational and recreational workshops as well as tutoring sessions for homeless mothers age 18-50. |

Andreas Widmer, co-founder of the SEVEN Fund and renowned entrepreneur, will be the after dinner speaker .As a young man, Widmer served as a Pontifical Swiss Guard protecting Pope John Paul II. He is a seasoned business executive with experience in the high-tech sector and, more recently, in international business strategy consulting and economic development. He is also a widely published author and writes regularly on issues of entrepreneurship, economic development and spirituality. |
