MI Employees Recognized for Service

MI recently honored 53 employees for their commitment to the organization and their length of service. “We are pleased to be able to recognize so many for their service and commitment to Mary Immaculate,” said Gerard Foley, President and CEO. “The group represents 625 years of service to MI,” he continued. “Continuity is such a key part of quality care for older adults, and we are so appreciative of the efforts of our employees on behalf of those entrusted to our care.”

At the ceremony held at the Lawrence Elks Club, Maria Pappalardo, dietary assistant, and Deborah Barrier, RN, nurse at Marguerite’s House Assisted Living, were named Employees of the Year.

Maria, a resident of Lawrence, is a 15 year veteran of the MI dietary department. In nominating her for the award, her manager noted that she is “always helping people and giving that little extra. She does everything with a smile and demonstrates the true mission of Mary Immaculate.”

Deborah’s nomination was accompanied with the comment that for her, “nurse is not a noun, but a verb because she lives her life ready to nurse, to nurture and to take care of all that comes before her.” She joined MIHCS in 2006, and is a resident of Haverhill.

Both Maria and Deborah are held in high esteem by their co-workers as both received a standing ovation when their awards were announced. Click here for photos of the evening.
